McAlister Institute’s programs provide a comprehensive range of substance abuse treatment and recovery services, including: individual and group counseling, individualized treatment planning, educational workshops, recovery topic-centered groups, job skills, parenting, recovery, addiction, relapse prevention, and health. A sliding fee scale is utilized to ensure no one is denied services due to inability to pay.

South Bay Women’s Recovery Center
This program offers outpatient services to pregnant and parenting women. Bilingual and mono-lingual Spanish-speaking services are provided. Services include individual and group counseling, individualized treatment planning, educational workshops, recovery topic-centered groups, job skills, parenting, recovery, addiction, relapse prevention, and health. Women also participate in an on-site co-op child care in which they are taught parenting and other child care skills.

Kiva Women and Children's Learning Center Population: Female
Description: Long-term residential program (6 to 12 months) for substance-abusing women and their children. Services include assessment, educational workshops in topics such as life skills, vocational training, health, and relapse prevention as well as treatment planning, individual and group counseling, and parenting instruction.

Perinatal Detox
Population: Female
Description: Residential detox program of five to ten days duration which provides drug and alcohol education, and an introduction to 12-Step recovery in a safe, supportive environment's. Referrals to longer-term treatment and sober living environments provided. Screenings are done daily at both the East County and North Coastal Regional Recovery Centers.

Population: Male and Female
Description: Short-term residential program (60 to 90 days) specifically for referrals from the Parolee Partnership Program (P-3) and SASCA (Substance Abuse Services Coordination Agency). HUD Sober Living - Oceanside
Population: Male
Description: Transitional housing for homeless men. Length of stay is up to one year. Assistant in referrals, employment, placement, schooling, transportation, case management, and intervention services.
