Vocational Programs for Self-Sufficiency

McAlister Institute offers Vocational Training for program participants based on their vision, interest and skill level in the following career areas:

Administrative Assistant
General Maintenance
Retail Sales and Customer Service
Catering, Food Service, and Buffet
Bingo Hall Operation

Participants earn certificated hours in the vocational program best suited to match their individual interests, skill level and employment goals. Each vocational participant is provided the opportunity to practice accountability, responsibility, gain or improve employment skills and earn vocational credit towards individual self-sufficiency.

McAlister Institute is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of society’s underserved population. The agency currently serves over 3,750 men, women, children and youth each month. McAlister is respected throughout San Diego County for their work affecting the families and communities we live in. McAlister believes in second chances, and strives to give a “hand up” rather than a “hand out”.
