John Cleary, Esq., President: Mr. Cleary is a local attorney with diverse legal experience in California and the midwest region of the U.S. Mr. Cleary joined the McAlister Institute board in 2008.
Dave Loveland, Vice President: Mr. Loveland served on the board from 2006 through 2009, when he resigned to become a staff member. He resigned as a staff member and rejoined the board in 2010. He now has a great understanding of staff issues and dealing with clients. He is a retired executive with Cox Cable of San Diego
Jeanie Emigh, Secretary: Ms. Emigh is retired from the San Diego County Probation Department and has worked in the field of substance abuse recovery for over 30 years. She has developed drug and alcohol education and counseling programs for both juveniles and adults. Continuing to work toward the goal of bringing quality treatment to those in need is Ms. Emigh’s goal on the board. She joined the board in 2004.
Larry Mulvaney, Treasurer: Mr. Mulvaney is a local businessman and computer professional who currently works with a local energy company. Mr. Mulvaney joined the McAlister Institute board in 2008.
Randy Doll, Director: Mr. Doll has served on the McAlister Institute board since 2002, and is a businessman working in his own business with his son.
Mike Franz, Director: Mr. Franz is the former employee of McAlister Institute and has over 25 years of experience working in the substance abuse treatment and recovery field. Upon his retirement, he became an entrepreneur and now runs a small business, while continuing to support McAlister Institute's mission and services. Mr. Franz joined the board in 2010.
Sally Hazzard, Director: Ms. Hazzard is a business woman who owns her own consulting business and has extensive experience working with governmental agencies. She has worked closely with McAlister Institute in the past and brings a wealth of knowledge to the board. Ms. Hazzard joined the board in 2011.
R. Scott Hoover, Director: Mr. Hoover is a businessman with extensive experience in the real estate and finance. He is dedicated to serving those in recovery. Mr. Hoover joined the board in 2010.
Mark Hower, Director: Mr. Hower is a local banking executive with extensive banking and consulting experience. Mr. Hower joined the board in 2011.
Elaine Levy, Director: Ms. Levy is a pharmacy services director for a large local integrated health care system. She has experience with her family and McAlister Institute and brings great enthusiasm for the agency. Ms. Levy joined the board in 2011.
John McCaughey, Director: Mr. McCaughey is a marine consultant who travels the world in his business enterprises. Mr. McCaughey joined the board in 2011.
Leonard Pool, Director: Leonard Pool is CEO of an electronic engineering company who also served in the military. He has worked in medical electronics, defense electronics, maritime navigation, and communication. He brings a wealth of experience and talent to the board, which he joined in 2009.
George Vahle III, Director: Mr. Vahle is a businessman in sales and marketing as well as consulting in a variety of high-tech fields. Mr. Vahle joined the board in 2011.
Tim Goodfellow, Director: Mr. Goodfellow is a local businessman who owns his own business and brings a wealth of experience to McAlister Institute. Mr. Goodfellow joined the board in 2011.
Jodi Mori, Director: Ms. Mori is a self-employed yacht consultant who works internationally. Ms. Mori is dedicated to the mission of McAlister Institute and she joined the board in 2011.
Shane Poppen, Director: Mr. Poppen works in commercial real estate for a major company in San Diego. He is passionate about recovery and the devastation caused by substance abuse. Mr. Poppen joined the McAlister Institute board in 2011.
